Origin & History
Cold-pressed oils originated thousands of years ago in India. Known as Chekku Ennai in Tamil and Ghani oil in North India, they were traditionally extracted using wooden presses and bulls. These oils were widely used in Ayurveda and Siddha medicine.
There are two main methods: Traditional bullock driven Vaigai marram (Vaigai wood) extraction & machine (wood/metal) extraction
The Art of Cold-Pressing Method
Extracted from groundnut, sesame, and coconut without heat or chemicals, ensuring nature’s original nutrients, aroma, and therapeutic properties remain completely preserved.
The Traditional Extraction Journey
Sourcing & Drying
Seeds are cleaned and sun-dried for 2–3 days to naturally reduce moisture.
Slow Extraction
Bullocks rotate a pestle in the Vagai wood press, slowly crushing the seeds.
Zero High Heat
Friction is absorbed by the wood, keeping temperatures near room level (~30°C).
Natural Filtration
Oil settles for 2–3 days, allowing sediment to sink naturally before bottling.
